C4 Energi

C4 Energi is the local and sustainable utility company in Kristianstad, which is one of the larger municipalities in the Skåne Region in southern Sweden. Their effort to provide end-users with sustainable energy solutions includes bio fuel based district heating as well as electric car charging and local electricity generation from one of Sweden’s largest solar power installations.

Together with NODA, C4 Energi helps its district heating customers to reduce their heating costs and to get in control of their indoor climate. This is done with the NODA Building service, which is provided by C4 Energi to building owners in Kristianstad. So far a total of 19 multi-family buildings have been connected to the service, amounting to a total of 43 000 square meters of heated area.

The service provides the building owners with information on the indoor climate via a web-based interface and helps the heating system to operate more efficiently by analysing temperature, energy and weather data. During the heating season 2020/2021, the average energy saving from the service in the buildings was 13 %, but savings are also achieved on heat demand which has a positive impact on the district heating network as a whole, as well as on the heating expenses since the heating price includes a demand-based component.
